Because this Macan had the option keyless entry, power on, rather than a button, was a kind of weird handle protrudes at the bottom left of the dashboard. Turning, I was greeted with a snarl nice and fast from the engine before it settled down to a minimum. That was my first indication that the Macan would be more than the average compact SUV.
The engine here is a direct injection 3.6-liter V-6, not used in the flat sixes 911. With two turbo, one for each bank, and and a high compression ratio of 10.5: 1, the engine produces 400 horsepower and 406 pounds-feet of torque. On the contrary, the engine of Macan S, 3-liter V-6 with dual turbo, makes 340 horsepower. I do not think you will feel particularly disappointed by the smaller engine.
In default mode of the road, I found the Macan a bit 'high-spirited. While it was easy to modulate acceleration from a stop, while maintaining low speeds in traffic proved difficult. The Macan wanted to run, do not be held back by the sea of mundane cars around it. Beyond the high power, some of the behaviors that is reduced to seven-speed dual-clutch transmission Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), which comes standard in Macan.
